Giving and Receiving Contructive Feedback

Why do we fear receiving feedback? Because most of us have received constructive criticism instead. Is there a difference? You betcha! Constructive feedback gives you information that calls attention to a potential problem or dilemma. In itself, constructive feedback does not solve problems. What is does though is open the door to problem-solving or other follow up actions. The foundation to giving and receiving constructive feedback is to do so with mutual respect and learning.

Participants will also learn:

  • That feedback is information about the impact of behaviors or actions on another.
  • Feedback sessions can be valuable learning experiences for both persons involved.
  • Guidelines for dealing day-to-day problems quickly and successfully.
  • How to interact with peers, managers, staff or external customers or suppliers.
