Implementing a Collaborative Performance Evaluation

If you want to take the agony out of performance evaluations, start using a collaborative approach that looks at what happened, what did we learn and where do we go in the future. For this to occur, leaders must learn how to prepare team members and themselves for the review, how to manage expectations during the session, and how to create a safe, open learning atmosphere.

Participants will also learn:

  • How to see and use the performance evaluation to increase productivity, morale and learning.
  • How to identify no more than three important points for the employee to work on after the session is completed.
  • How to invite the employee to share their own assessment.
  • How to give your own perspective.
  • Jointly determine next steps.
  • Review for points for forward thinking, not getting stuck on the past.
